Despite the closure of many downtown Chattanooga eateries, the options are expanding on the Southside. The restauranteur behind Slick’s Burgers, Eric Taflimi, is offering new dining options on Main Street with the opening of Southside Pizza.
“We definitely saw the need for more options in this neighborhood,” says Taflimi.
Southside Pizza will serve whole pies and by-the-slice options of their traditional and speciality offerings, baked in brick-lined deck ovens. Though the menu hasn’t been finalized, Taflimi says they’ll incorporate some unexpected toppings.
“We’re thinking about making a clam pizza,” he adds.
Southside Pizza will also have a wide variety of canned and bottled beer.
“At Slick’s, we only have local and Tennessee beers on tap. We’ll also have a lot of different craft beers for people to try at Southside Pizza.”
Like Slick’s, Taflimi says the large outdoor patio will also have live music eventually.
The restaurant is set to open in mid-October. They’re still looking for a few part-time employees. If you’re interested in applying, Taflimi asks you to drop your resume off at Slick’s.
