National Trails Day
Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park
Saturday, June 3rd is National Trails Day! From 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., you can volunteer to preserve the park for generations to come. Volunteers should meet at the Visitor Center (3370 LaFayette Road in Fort Oglethorpe). Tools will be provided. All volunteers are asked to wear long pants and sturdy shoes. Cumberland Trail, Sale Creek
Volunteers will have an opportunity to change the Cumberland Trail map by assisting a trail construction crew. The Cumberland Trails Conference will supply the tools. Learn how a hiking trail gets built, and be part of creating a permanent recreation opportunity in Tennessee’s first linear State Park: the Cumberland Trail State Scenic Trail. Catoosa Farmers Market – Opening Day
Enjoy homegrown produce and handmade products! This is a new market taking place Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Northwest GA Amphitheater. Vendors still have time to sign up!
National Learn To Row Day
Saturday is also National Learn To Row Day! USRowing and Lookout Rowing Club are sponsoring National Learn To Row Day at the Raoul Rowing Center anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. People of all ages are welcome to try it. The center is located at 1001 Riverside Drive (beside Boathouse Rotisserie). You can tour the club and take a row to the bluffs and back.
Vintage Base Ball Match
6th Cavalry Museum
12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Join the 6th Cavalry Museum for an afternoon Vintage Base Ball double header this Saturday. Players are dressed in period attire and follow the rules set in 1860. The museum will be open for tours. Concessions are available for purchase. Bring chairs or blankets.
